Dufflebag Theatre

The students went to the gym to see a performance of 'Beauty and the Beast' put on by the Dufflebag Theatre Company.


Wet sand

We explored what would happen to the dry sand if we added water.  We discovered that wet sand was able to stick together allowing us to build sand castles.  We also learned that sand can only absorb a certain amount of water.  If we put too much water we ended up with puddles.

My apologies!

Sorry for the lack of postings in the last few weeks.  Report cards and interviews were a busy time!  It was wonderful to meet with all of the SK parents and I look forward to meeting with JK parents in February.

Gingerbread Man Sequencing

We re-read 'The Gingerbread Man' story.  After reading, we sequenced the pictures and did a  story retell.

Measurement

We used gingerbread men to see how tall we were and recorded our results on a chart.  We used the information to see who was taller and who was shorter.

We found patterns in our clothes:

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves

After reading the story, the students worked on sequencing.
 
They put the objects in the stomach in the order in which they were swallowed.

We created lists of words that start with each letter and practiced printing in our books.
Review the letter sound and practice printing at home.

Counting Fun

Various numbers from 1-10 were called out and the students counted the amount of seeds to put in their pumpkin to match the number.
